Quest’ultimo lavoro del bassista e compositore romano, interamente costituito da propri brani originali, rappresenta la realizzazione e il compimento del lungo lavoro di introspezione e ricerca dell’artista (dal suo precedente album da leader “Second Phase” ad oggi) in cui ha perfezionato e raffinato il suo approccio strumentale, compositivo e di arrangiamento, sperimentando diverse sonorità timbriche mediante l’utilizzo di particolari combinazioni strumentali, insieme a musicisti con i quali ha condiviso le più importanti e fondamentali tappe già dagli inizi della sua carriera musicale.
Ciò che emerge da questo lavoro, oltre al grande spessore delle composizioni e degli arrangiamenti, è la raffinata ecletticità di Pietro Ciancaglini nell’assumere la doppia veste di contrabbassista e bassista elettrico, laddove l’utilizzo del basso elettrico viene da lui adoperato simultaneamente come strumento d’accompagnamento e come strumento solista, puntando a creare situazioni sempre diverse: dai temi articolati su strutture armonico-ritmiche originali e non convenzionali, a momenti di spiccata melodia, ad altri di improvvisazione totale. Le sonorità elettriche ed acustiche si compenetrano a vicenda creando un “sound” unico. Importante è il ruolo della voce, utilizzata come strumento a completamento dell’ impasto timbrico.
