GleAM Records is proud to announce the release of Respira, the debut album of Italian bassist & composer Antonello Losacco, available on CD and digital download/ streaming from 20 May 2022. The album release will be preceded by the single "Almaluna" out on April 28th, 2022.
From the first notes, it’s clear the descriptive intent and a musical aesthetic of cinematic breath. The jazz language, meets sound landscapes that refer to impressionism and film music with an authentic and typically European flavor. Composition and improvisation intertwine and merge, creating an organic and never self-referential discourse in which sometimes contrasting scenery follow one another in a narrative, held together by a strong interpretative and writing coherence. A well thought-out balance from the leader that offers pictures of crystalline beauty thanks to the balance between the research on sound (double bass, 6 & 7 string bass) and the expressive strength of the string quartet, of which he explores the timbre possibilities proving his skills as arranger and orchestrator. It’s evident a musical poetics in which great formal cleanliness dominate and a capacity for synthesis in which the topics follow each other, letting themselves be waited for and appreciated by revealing their intentions with a very wide arc of thought.
An album to be appreciated in its entirety, in which each song is a miniature in its own right, but which in its temporal course reveals a rich emotional continuity of great depth.
